Well after the major between Blizzard fans about whether the secret project was going to turn out to be Diablo III or Warcraft 4….it is indeed Diablo III. It was confirmed today on Blizzards official website so all the rumors and hearsay has been put to rest. To me it was a win / win situation either way. Although I am a HUGE Warcraft III fan I am still happy to see another installment of the Diablo series. I spent a good amount of time browsing around the site and I definitely liked what I saw. The new classes, up to date graphics, kickass story, etc. This is going to be one awesome game as it stands right now. When will it be released? I have no idea really, but I know I will be preordering a copy as soon as I can. I will post more information about Diablo III as more information comes along. Don’t worry though…as soon as I hear it I will post it to keep everyone informed!

Long time veteran developer Blizzard is making it’s return to the genre that made them what they are today…RTS games, or for the abbreviation impaired Real Time Strategy games. In my opinion its about freaking time this happened for Starcraft fans and RTS fans in general. I’m not a big WoW hater or anything (although I personally don’t like the game), but I just felt kind of robbed when they ditched what made them famous. Turns out they didn’t ditch it though…they just put it on the back burner for awhile. A long while. Anyway, the best-selling and critically-acclaimed game is finally getting its justice by seeing a sequel in production. I have seen a lot of screenshots of Starcraft II, and man it is looking sweet! The graphical update alone is truly amazing. This was of course expected being the original Starcraft was released over 10 years ago in 1998! Talk about a gap in between sequels eh? What hasn’t changed though is the perfect RTS formula and balance of great game dynamics. I obviously can’t say this firsthand because I haven’t been able to beta test anything for the game (sigh ) but when you have tons of magazine teams playing demo’s and relaying the information it all adds up. I really thing the release of Starcraft II will spark some life back into the RTS world. Let’s face it, we’ve been playing old games such as Starcraft and Warcraft III to still get our thrills. It’s definitely time for a big boom in this extremely competitive style of gameplay. Unfortunately for use there is no release date set yet, but when I searched on EBgames.com I found that they have a preorder estimate of 12/03/2008. Keep in mind this is just an estimate and they do not offer any guarantees on this date, but it’s at least something to go by for now. Let’s just hope the next release we hear about on Blizzard’s plate is Warcraft IV! I won’t be holding my breath, but hey I can hope right?
