Glitches:

Drifloon Glitch:

If you need to spot or catch a Drifloon you don’t have to wait until Friday to go to Vally Works. Just go to your DS settings and change the date to a Friday find Drifloon save, and change it back.

Duplicte Underground Trap:

This glitch requires two copies of either pearl or diamond. Both players enter the underground. One places all of the desired traps to be duplicated. The other picks them up. Then the first player turns off the game without saving.

Clone Pokemon:
Step 1: Go to GTS at Jublife City.

Step 2: Enter the GTS room. (The part where you connect to the wireless router, wifi connector, etc.)

Step 3: Deposit a pokemon you want to clone.

Step 4: Make a bogus deal for the wanted pokemon. (i.e. Level 100 Abra, either gender)

Step 5: Begin Depositing. (Look at the clock at the bottom right of the message. When it goes around 6-8.5 times, shut down your DS!) Note: It is hard to find the exact timing to shut the DS down.

Step 6: Turn your game back on. (If it has a blue screen that says that your file has been corrupted, that mean’s it’s working.)

Step 7: Continue with the game. (You should appear across the lady)

Step 8: Log into Wifi again. Step 9: Take your cloning pokemon back. Step 10: Check to see if it worked

Evolve transfered Pokemon from the Gameboy Advance games:

Some pokemon need to be traded to evolve like haunter and machoke, or the ones you have to use items. The easy way: If you have a gba game and a wi-fi, deposit the pokemon you want to evolve and ask for a pokemon you are not going to find (like a lvl 5 charizard) and leave it in there for about 24 hours. Take it back and it should evolve.

Fast egg growing:
Get a Pokemon with magma armor and put the egg next to the Pokeon with magma armor. It should hatch in 500 steps

Walkthorough wall glitch:
In the jubilife tv station, where you can decorate pokemon, talk to him on the side. When he asks what pokemon to decorate, press the opposite direction of which you are facing and you will enter room through wall.

Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy

Posted on Jun 19, 2008 03:26:29 PM

Release Date: 05/15/2008
ESRB Rating: Rating Pending
Genre: Shooter
Publisher: Majesco
Developer: Budcat

First off, this new Nintendo Wii title is one of my favorites so far because of the modification tools built-in within it. Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy is a clever game that combines a shoot-em-up style game with an object editor that allows you to create your own scenes and levels. It basically gives you the ability to make your own shooter game without having to have any knowledge of programming. Absolutely anyone can use the editor with ease as the layout is really nice. Nothing is hard to do or find so all in all…the object editor can be an extremely powerful tool for those with a creative mind.

Once you begin the single-player game you will be dealing with an interesting way to play the game. What was dubbed as a “sticky blocks” mechanic adds a pretty fun way to kill your enemies. When you defeat an enemy it will stick to you when you hit them. So basically their attack becomes your attack. If the enemy lands on you facing the left shooting bullets…he will continue to shoot bullets to the left for you. This can add quite a chaotic experience to the game once you collect a lot of enemies! The multiplayer mayhem can be a lot of fun as well if you and some buddy’s enjoy this style of game. The party game consists of a Katamari Damacy style of gameplay where you collect every enemy you can…becoming a huge ball of death with enemies blasting away every direction and even you!

Now back to the editor. As I said above, everything is easy to use and create. In fact, you are given the same tools the developers used so you can create your own enemies, backgrounds, etc. Although, for those of you who are artistically challenged you can rely on unlocking lots of pre-made content through the campaign of the game. The creation options are definitely not something you are low on. You can create enemies, ships, level layouts, bullet patterns, and adjust the variables along with them such as damage, etc. I like the editor more than the game itself, but that is because I have a lot of fun designing things to my taste. It’s a great tool to see on the Nintendo Wii, and I hope to see more games like this.

Now Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy is a game that won’t appeal to everyone. I understand that not everyone wants to make their own games…even if it is a lazy way to do it. However, if you like shooter games you will still find joy in this game. If you like designing and modding games (or you would love to try) you will find lots of entertainment as well. If you like both well…you are in for quite a treat. This is definitely one of the more creative games to hit the Nintendo Wii so it is worth playing for that if nothing else. I reccomend you give it a try and see what you think. Who knows…this could be the game that inspires you to become a game designer down the road? Either way, its a lot of fun and that’s what really matters.

Killer Instinct 3D: Death, Destruction, and Doom

Posted on Jun 16, 2008 12:39:12 PM

Do you remember the Killer Instinct series? You may or may not because the last one that was released for Killer Instinct Gold for Nintendo 64 waaaaaaaaaaay back in 1996! Regardless of whether you were gaming over 10 years ago…or if you even played this series we do have something to look forward too. The great thing Killer Instinct has always been the extremely over the top combos that set it apart from any other fighting game. I’m not talking just a 6 hit combo here either. It’s more of a brutal 20 to 30 hit combo that is really fun to pull off and watch. Well it seems that Rare will be bringing the series back to life on the Xbox 360! They are supposedly in the works of making Killer Instinct 3D: Death, Destruction, and Doom as you are reading this. This will be the first time the game has abandoned its 2D roots so it should make for a pretty cool update. The new killer instinct is still in the early stages of development, but you can expect a very familiar cast of characters making it into the game. To me that is awesome news because they have always had some really cool characters to choose from. Riptor anyone? Maybe TJ Combo? However, I am hoping to see the character selections increase drastically and add some new ones to choose from. I love retro roots in games, but I don’t mind seeing new additions either. I guess time will tell with this new title. All I can say right now is I think this will be one hot game on the Xbox 360!

NERF N-Strike on the Wii Ships with NERF Controller!

Posted on Feb 13, 2008 10:51:17 PM

The next hot game to hit the Nintendo Wii is definitely NERF N-Strike! Why? Well, besides the game shipping with one cool ass blaster controller…the controller doubles as a real NERF Gun! Yeah, the controller will work with the new Wii game as well as fire real darts at your friends, sister, mom, whoever and whatever. This is extremely interesting to me because of the level of design and development that was put into this new peripheral for the Nintendo Wii. What a golden idea….seriously! Make a controller that is cool enough to use in a shoot-em up game, but also make it usable for play without any console period! Now that’s thinking outside the box. As a game programmer myself I must say they have tapped into a new gaming market. Making peripherals that are usable outside of the limitations of a console is nothing but golden. Bravo Nintendo! Just when I started losing faith in your..you sneak up and surprise me with something like this. You can expect the NERF N-Strike game to feature both singleplayer and multiplayer modes for you to enjoy. Could the game suck? Maybe…but you get a NERF Blaster gun controller with it man…so I will definitely buy it just for that. :D Do you want a peek at this controller? No problem just look below!!

Play Super Nintendo On Your Playstation 2!

Posted on Feb 12, 2008 10:45:01 AM

Now that Playstation 3 is out, you may have an old PS2 laying around eh? If so, I suggest you mod it and turn it into your own little personal fun machine. Have you ever wanted to play your old school SNES games on your Playstation 2? Have you ever even thought about it? Well, either way you can do it. I would like to send out a special thanks to the creator of SNES Station who has made this possible! In case you don’t know already…SNES Station is a Super Nintendo emulator made specifically to run on a PS2. However, to run the emulator you will need to either have a mod chip installed on your PS2 or use a swap method. Whichever method you choose you can get a good deal for either here (opens in new window). Personally I chose the DMS4 Pro mod chip for PS2 and loaded it with Toxic OS because it’s just cool to have all those options, etc. However, many people don’t feel comfortable or don’t want to try installing a mod chip so they choose something like the Slide Card Combo or MagicKeys II. Those two methods are the easiest and you don’t have to risk ruining your PS2 because of a mistake. It gets the job done just the same, just without auto-boot and some other cool options that an actual PS2 mod chip will give you. So if you can install a mod chip…I would do it, but if not just go with one of the other methods. Also, you can buy pre-modded PS2’s as well but you may not want to fork out that much money for an old console. I guess it just depends on your budget and what you want. Anyway, back to SNES Station. Once you have the modding complete all you have to do is download the Snes emulator here: snes_0_2_3_20040124.zip. Unzip it and then burn it to a disc using Nero. In Nero you need to take the following steps to correctly burn the CD image.

  1. Open Nero then select CD-ROM (ISO)
  2. Make sure “No Multisession” is checked
  3. Click the ISO tab and make sure “Mode 2/XA” is selected for Format:
  4. Make sure “ISO 9660″ is selected for Character Set:
  5. Click new
  6. In the file browser select all of the contents in the folder you unzipped. (except the readme)
  7. Browse for your roms and place them wherever you want (recommended to use separate folders for each rom)
  8. Click File, then Write CD
  9. Done!

Once you have your CD burned it is time to test it out. Pop open your PS2 and either let it auto-boot if you have a mod chip or do the swap trick and let it load up. Your screen should end up looking like this if all goes well:

gui.jpg

If you see that screen then you are ready to play Super Nintendo on your Playstation 2. If you don’t see that screen then you most likely messed up one of the steps in the burning process or your PS2 is not modded properly. If you are sure you did both correctly, then just reset the PS2 because sometimes the emulator hangs up for no reason. It could take multiple boots before it actually works. However, when it does work it’s freaking awesome! Enjoy! ;)

The Nintendo Wii Declines as a Singleplayer Console

Posted on Feb 11, 2008 05:52:04 PM

First off, let me say that I have owned the Nintendo Wii since it’s release in the U.S. and really enjoyed it…for awhile. The thing about this console is that it is mainly a “party machine”. By that I mean it’s really only fun when you and a group of friends get together and play games like bowling, tennis, or something like Mario Party with a lot of mini-games. That’s a lot of fun and all, but when you are alone and playing the Wii the gameplay changes drastically. If you play those same games you were having a blast while playing with your friends then you will probably see how quickly it loses its flair. Now of course there are games that are more geared to the a single player such as Zelda, Metroid,  Sonic Rings, and Super Mario Galaxy. However, have you played these games with the Wii controls? I’ll admit Zelda was actually awesome and certainly the number one game for the Nintendo Wii. But there is a lacking of games that equal up to the “fun factor” that Zelda provided. I think this has a lot to do with the controls. Sure playing tennis, baseball, or even going fishing is really cool with Wii-mote technology, but that same technology steals away from the gameplay of a lot of games on the Nintendo Wii (particularly first-person shooters). It could just be me…but aiming a Wii-mote at the screen to shoot down enemies in a game such as Metroid just sucks. Seriously. It reminds me of the days of the Nintendo 64 because of its somewhat broken gameplay. The Wii mote doesn’t always detect your movements unless it’s perfectly aimed or done every time, which makes it really hard to complete some tasks. This isn’t because the game is broken though, it is because the controls are. I feel that the Nintendo Wii will end up like the Gamecube eventually when the novelty of the “innovative” controls wears off on the public. That is of course unless people really enjoy having the “party machine” console. In that case, you are good to go as far as the gaming experience goes. However, if you are a hardcore gamer…your best bet is to go with PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 instead. Otherwise you will find yourself disappointed in the long run in my humble opinion. The other current consoles provide a solid singleplayer and multiplayer experience with almost all of their games (of course a few games will bomb every now and then). Whereas I would say the Nintendo Wii has a 1 in 10 chance of being a solid game. In the end I just don’t like those odds.

Worst NES Game Endings Ever

Posted on Feb 6, 2008 06:03:46 PM

Remember spending hours upon hours trying to beat a NES game only to find that once you do…the ending is less than worth it? I certainly do! It used to drive me crazy!! One game that comes to mind for me is the NES version of Rampage. A friend of mine and I rented the game and stayed up all night playing it. We were bound to conquer all the states and beat the game. Of course, we did accomplish this but the ending was HORRIBLE. All that happened was the characters (wolf, ape, and lizzard) walk out from the side of the screen and turn into people. Then…wait this is the big moment….they wave at you! Then, to top it off you get slammed with the Game Over screen. What a slap in the face right? I hated that so much that I refuse to play the new Wii version of the game to this day. Anyway, I am sure you will remember experiencing some of these endings in the video below. Just to name a few that you will see: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Friday the 13th, Bubble Bobble, and the original Super Mario Bros. game.

Enjoy!

NES Commercials - A Blast From The Past!

Posted on Feb 6, 2008 08:47:44 AM

I’ve been gaming since the Atari days, so when I came across this commercial I was pretty much shocked to see it again. For those of you who are old school gamers like me…you will certainly appreciate taking another peek at this. And for those of you who weren’t even born yet, you can still enjoy the ridiculous quality of the commercial. It’s so crazy to look back at gaming 20 something years ago. It was much much different than todays standards, but the games were still so much fun! Check out the first Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) commercial below, and as an added bonus I found an old Toys R Us commercial as well. They are both pretty cheesy, but I still miss those days and the style of gaming back then!

Rock Band…Rocks It!

Posted on Feb 3, 2008 11:34:29 AM

I have played a LOT of games throughout my life, and I must say that Rock Band is one of the coolest games I have ever seen. I purchased the special edition version last night, which comes with the official Rock Band microphone, drums, and guitar. It wasn’t cheap, but was well worth the money once I got home and started jamming Weezer - “Say It Ain’t So” with my girlfriend. We both played Rock Band for about 2 hours straight! Any gamer/rock fan can certainly appreciate the time put into this game and the replay value is extremely high. There are tons of songs to learn, plus unlockable songs, plus songs you can purchase on the PS3 Network or Xbox Live for a reasonable price. It has also been confirmed by an EA CEO that Rock Band will make its way to the Nintendo Wii in the near future, although no release date has been set yet. Overall, I give this game a 9/10. The only reason I didn’t give it a full 10 is because the graphics aren’t exactly spectacular, but the game play more than makes up for this. You should definitely give this game a shot if you haven’t already…it truly rocks!

Nintendo Wii & Midway Stole Wii-Mote Technology!

Posted on Feb 1, 2008 04:43:59 PM

After watching an interview with an Ex-Midway employee on FOX, it is completely obvious that the former employee was robbed of his dream. Not only did he come up with the idea, but he also had working versions of it 8 years ago! Which of course is long before the Nintendo Wii ever came out. Of course, the employee had great faith in the new video game controller technology and wanted to secure his piece of the pie for it. Apparently the ex-employee was fired from Midway games a few months after requesting royalties on the future of this project. As time passed though the ex-employee felt the idea had been dropped until the day he saw the first Nintendo Wii commercial. Ouch! What a way to learn you got robbed by two of the biggest companies in the industry. Nintendo’s defense for the situation is that they took the idea to another level and expanded it beyond what the former employee had ever done. However, by watching the video I feel that statement is untrue. Don’t believe me or want more information? Check out the video below! By the way, I still love Nintendo and will support them to the end, but I do feel they did this guy pretty wrong!!
