Who knew that Sam & Max would be one of the best examples of episodic content to show that it can work. The series has already had two very successful releases (seasons), and they are showing no signs of stopping just yet. Emily Morganti from Telltale Games has dished out some details about the upcoming Sam & Max Season 3. According to Emily the season is planned to be released in early 2009 very soon after the Sam & Max Season One compilation comes to the Nintendo Wii. Although the episodes are small enough to download over the internet…unfortunately they are still too big for WiiWares requirements, and releasing them by disc is the only option at this time. Hopefully, Nintendo will take note to this issue and the general issue of an extremely small storage capacity and come up with a solution for the future. How many platforms will see this title? Mortganti said, “Our tools currently allow us to develop for PC, Xbox 360, and Wii,”. “So many people had been asking for Sam & Max to come to Wii that it seemed the obvious place to start, but we’re not ruling out other platforms in the future. We’re interested in PlayStation, also… we want our games to be everywhere!”. That’s great news to gamers out there with only one way to game at their fingertips. Plus, having more options of what platform to buy the game for is always a plus. Sadly, Mac users will not get a chance to play this on their machines. They haven’t ruled out Mac for the future, but don’t hold your breath for a release anytime soon.
