So you just bought Call of Duty 4 and all your friends are already rank 55 and you’re stuck at lvl 1, sucks huh? Or maybe you had to re-format your computer or something else like that and you lost your COD4 profile, since it’s not hosted on Activision servers, there is no way to get it back. Instead, why not just hack your lvl 55 rank? It beats spending hours and hours leveling up one by one. Here’s how to do it…
For PC
1. Download this mpdata file.
2. Go to Start -> Run-> Type regedit -> Hit Enter.
3. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4
4. Double-click codkey
5. Save the key in notepad
6. Replace the key with: DL2J8PY44Q22GE4888D2
7. Press OK and close regedit.
8. Navigate to your Call of Duty 4 profile folder (typically “C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\your_user_name”)
9. Back-up and then remove all the files in your user name folder.
10. Place the mpdata file you downloaded in your user name folder
11. Open the COD4 MP game and check your rank. You should now be level 55 with all challenges, guns, and every camouflage unlocked!
12. Finally, in the game go to Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Key Code and type your original cd key you have saved in notepad.
There you go, you now have everything unlocked. Enjoy.

This also did not work for me (ver 1.6). I backed up my files and replaced with this. Stats reset message. Removed and restored my backup \ my original rank restored.
Please disregard my last post! I forgot to REPLACE the registry key code. I copied the original but did not replace with one in instructions. Also, when you download the new MPdata file mine was name “mpdata(2)”. Rename it to “mpdata”. In addition, I had to right-click the file \ properties and ‘unblock’ file. XP Pro saw this as a potential harmful file from another computer.

I’m srry guys but the “how to” is about as clear as it gets… i got the “mpdata” file and went through all the steps and it worked!!! i told a whole bunch of people on cod4 today and convinced at least 8 people into trying it….so far 5 of em came back with a positive and 1 was too noob to find the file…lol
So far i know it woks for v1.4 and 1.5…not sure for the rest
oh yeah!! its also undetected….and make sure your original key code is back on before playing multiplayer or it wont work…then youd have to repeat the process end
